Ryan steps out with mum as rep denies romance 'fracture'

Red carpet watchers will have been keeping a beady eye out for Ryan Gosling's girlfriend in New York on Tuesday night. The Oscar-nominated actor has not been accompanied by his rumoured fiancée and Notebook co-star Rachel McAdams to several high profile screenings of late, including last week's LA premiere of his thriller Fracture, when he took along his sister Mandi. This time he turned up for the film's Big Apple premiere with his mum Donna, leaving fans wondering if his romance truly is on the rocks.

But Rachel's rep has insisted reports of a break are "completely false". Ontario-born Ryan recently heaped praise on his girlfriend saying: "She's kind... She's inspired me to do so much. She's the most discerning person I've ever met. She'll read a script 100 times. She's relentless... and she looks stunning." He has been pretty discerning himself of late, when it comes to choosing new roles. In Fracture, a crime drama, he shows yet another side to his versatile talent as a cocky lawyer prosecuting an unrepentant murderer played by Anthony Hopkins.

While devoted family man Ryan enjoyed a night out with his mum, another Canadian star, Elisha Cuthbert, was mingling with Hollywood royalty. She was joined at the New York premiere of He Was A Quiet Man by her heart-throb co-star Christian Slater. Currently making a name for herself on the big screen after landing her big break in hit TV series 24, Elisha looked effortlessly glam as she arrived in a stylish grey tiered dress.
