Watch footage of the celeb Comic Relief team meeting the PM Just days after successfully conquering Mount Kilimanjaro's 19,300ft peak, there was another high in store for Cheryl Cole, Kimberley Walsh and the rest of the fundraising team. They were invited to Downing Street to receive the personal congratulations of the Prime Minister.

The group - which included singer Alesha Dixon, TV presenter Ben Shepherd and Boyzone stor Ronan Keating - were back to their usual glossy selves for the high profile appointment. They took tea with Gordon Brown, who has pledged a further £2 million of government funding to the £1.6 million they raised with their Comic Relief climb.

"It was a privilege to meet the PM today," said Take That's Gary Barlow, who masterminded the Africa expedition. "If the money raised can help control malaria and also help vulnerable and poor people in the UK it will all have been worthwhile."

Mr Brown's wife Sarah, who was also at the reception, told Radio One DJ Chris Moyles she was looking forward to watching the Wednesday night TV documentary about their trip, and would be making a special effort to tape it as she was due to attend an official function when it was broadcast.
