A five-bedroom house in a quiet North London suburb is not where you'd expect to find wild child pop star Amy Winehouse. But that's where the 25-year-old has now set up home.

Arriving back in London on Sunday following a two-month Caribbean holiday, former Camden resident Amy headed to a £1.4 million house, complete with curved driveway and Hollywood Hills palm-tree garden in Barnet, Hertfordshire.

The gated property – which it is thought the Back To Black star's mum Janis chose so Amy could be closer to her and her father Mick - is located a short distance from where Amy grew up in Southgate.

While her arrival in the leafy suburb has received a less-than-enthusiastic reception from some of the neighbours, Amy's extended break seems to have given her a renewed enthusiasm for the British capital. "I love London more than anywhere else," she says.
