'I'm not with him' - Katie Price splits from Alex as she reflects on life after Pete

A week in the jungle on I'm A Celebrity… has had a profound effect on Katie Price.

Not least because she decided to become a single girl again, ending her relationship with cage-fighter Alex Reid. The model revealed all as she talked to hosts Ant and Dec, telling them she'd had time for a lot of "reflection in the jungle", and she "just realised I wanted to be on my own."

When asked if 34-year-old Alex was still her boyfriend, Katie clarified: "I'm not with him. I know people might think it's harsh, but a lot of things have happened since I came out, I've done a lot of thinking in there…

"I can't live my life by everyone else, I have to think of me and my children and I am so much happier as a person." She did not comment on Alex's revelations to newspapers as he boarded a plane to reunite with the star in Australia that he planned to propose.

It is thought Katie ended their relationship shortly before she appeared on air. Unsurprisingly the Brighton-born brunette found she had another man on her mind during her stint on the show – ex Peter Andre.

Saying the opportunity brought back "amazing memories" of her former husband, Katie said she had behaved terribly since the couple's split, adding: "I've come out a better person. For seven months I've acted like a right twit," she told the presenters. "I'm sorry if I've upset people."

"Every morning I would look over and expect to see Pete and it was like all these good memories, then it would click and I'd think all those good memories are gone now, it's sad."

The mum-of-three also touched on her reasons for her early exit – forfeiting £100,000 of her £350,000 appearance fee - saying that as well as being faced with memories of her ex, she really missed her children

"I had no contact with them (Harvey, Princess and Junior), which I knew, but I found it really hard and it made me realise I don’t need to do this," she said.

"I wanted to stay to the end, but emotionally it was really, really hard – probably because of the Pete part, the good memories."

But the 31-year-old insists she is happier since her return to the jungle. "It made me reflect on my past. It made me realise I probably did act a right fool behaving the way I did," she said. "It's a fresh start."
