'Style of Jolie': A peek at Angelina's debut jewellery collection

13 APRIL 2011

She has been accessorised to perfection recently, showcasing bold, oversized gem earrings and statement necklaces.

And it has emerged that Angelina Jolie designed the fabulous jewels herself, as part of a collection entitled Style of Jolie which previewed on Tuesday in Beverly Hills.

The collection – created to raise funds for the Education Partnership for Children in Conflict – features many pieces that the Hollywood star has worn.

A diamond choker that Angelina showcased in her latest film The Tourist, also starring Johnny Depp, is included, along with yellow gold and green tablet earrings that she wore for the New York premiere.

And the black faceted necklace that the 35-year-old sported at the premiere of her 2009 film Salt also features.

But the mum of six's favourite item is said to be a necklace fashioned from emeralds.

Each piece in the line features semi-precious and precious stones, from white quartz and citrine to emeralds and diamonds.

This new venture for Angelina is in collaboration with jeweller Robert Procop.

And the Oscar-winning actress issued a statement about the collection on the jeweller's website.

"In collaborating with Robert, we identified favorite characteristics like vivid colors and dramatic faceting, in each gemstone," she said.

"From there, everything fell into place. By making the gemstone the main focus of the design, we feel the simplicity of each piece becomes timeless.

"Beyond enjoying the artistic satisfaction of designing these jewels, we have been fortified by knowing that our work is also serving our mutual goal of providing for children in need."

The exhibition is by invitation only.
