Victoria Beckham gets creative with loo roll at her fun baby shower

09 MAY 2011

This Victoria Beckham creation isn't likely to make it into her next catwalk collection.

The expectant singer-turned-designer posted a hilarious snap of herself on Twitter modelling a dress she'd fashioned out of loo paper.

It had been a task set by friends who had been helping her celebrate at her baby shower.

Desperate Housewives actress Eva Longoria hosted the pink bash at the private rooftop Butterfly Bar in Hollywood with hair stylist Ken Paves, to celebrate the upcoming arrival of Victoria's first daughter.

"Such a lovely day!!!thank u so much @EvaLongoria and @KenPaves for being such wonderful friends. Baby showers are so much fun!!!!!!!x vb," she posted afterwards.

Beforehand she revealed her trepidation at being asked to wear something waterproof: "I have been told to wear something waterproof for my baby shower!!!!I'm now very nervous!!!!

"Question.....is waterproof chic????? Or stylish in any way????"

The shower had an English garden tea party theme, and guests - who included Nicole Richie, Selma Blair and Tana Ramsay - enjoyed feasting on a marzipan 'princess cake'.

Mounds of boxes gift-wrapped in pink paper were seen stacked up on a table at the bash.

Among the presents Victoria received from Los Angeles baby store Beginnings were a pink stroller, a baby swing, a pink baby bath tub, a pink blanket, a diaper bag and a 5ft custom-made giraffe.

Thirty-seven-year-old Victoria is expecting a little girl in July.

She and husband David - pictured at the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge - already have three boys: Twelve-year-old Brooklyn, Romeo, eight and six-year-old Cruz.
