Pippa and her style heroine mum Carole return to the Goring Hotel

It's clear that both the Duchess of Cambridge and sister Pippa Middleton follow in the sartorial footsteps of their mother.

The girls constantly step out in identical outfits to their style heroine Carole. 

Pippa had obviously taken inspiration from her mum at the Goring Hotel Beach Party – hosted by Basil Charles, the colourful owner of the family's favourite haunt in Mustique, Basil’s Bar.

The restaurateur was one of several friends from the island retreat, who was invited to the royal wedding.

Making their return to the hotel where they stayed with the bride on the eve of the nuptials, the fashionable mum and daughter were both clad in multi-coloured graphic print dresses. They'd even accessorised with the same shoes.

Though Carole, 56, perhaps mindful of her age went for a hemline than was slightly longer than the one on Pippa's flirty frock from French brand Maje, possibly bought in France or on her sunshine break to Madrid.

A key look for all three ladies is low-slung jeans paired with white shirts and riding boots, as demonstrated by Kate and her mum on a day out to the polo.

And she's also passed on a love for tailored, fitted coats to her girls.

 

 

Kate championed this look for her first official engagement in Anglesey. And she went for it at the Cheltenham Gold Cup equestrian event in 2006 too, turning heads in an elegant beige Catherine Hooker coat, and a fur hat raided from Carole's wardrobe. 

On the day before the royal wedding, it was difficult to tell the glossy trio of brunettes apart. Both the Duchess and her mum were chic in LBDs under white blazers, paired with black heels.
