28 MAY 2013

Katie Holmes and daughter Suri Cruise headed for the sunny shores of Florida to celebrate Memorial Day weekend.

"Everyone looked like they were having a great time," a member of staff told PEOPLE. "Suri was really polite and so well behaved."

After a leisurely lunch, 34-year-old Katie was spotted browsing the local shops with a friend.

The pair arrived back in New York on Monday afternoon, sun kissed and refreshed from their holiday.

Given the fun she looked like she was having during filming last week, Dawsons Creek actress Katie was no doubt looking forward to resuming filming. The mum-of-one was the picture of happiness as she got soaked in the Washington Square Park fountain while filming Mania Days with dashing co-star Luke Kirby last Tuesday.
