Brad says Angelina is 'as sexy as ever'

18 JUNE 2013

Brad Pitt has spoken about his love for fiancée Angelina Jolie, who recently underwent a double mastectomy.

"She has always been the brave, bold individual that I fell for," said the actor, before adding, "and sexy as ever".

Brad was speaking at the New York premiere of his movie World War Z. Angelina was unable to attend as she preparing for World Refugee Day, which takes place on Thursday.

The Hollywood heartthrob was also asked about singer-songwriter Melissa Etheridge’s comments that Angelina’s decision to have a mastectomy was not brave. "Melissa is an old friend of mine," he said. "I'll have to give her a call."

Melissa, 52, suffered breast cancer in 2005, and has the same BRCA-1 mutation gene that led Angelina to decide to have the operation.

"I wouldn’t call it the brave choice," said Melissa. "I actually think it’s the most fearful choice you can make when confronting anything with cancer."

Brad said that Angelina is recovering well from her operations and also spoke warmly about his children. He told People that his children are big fans of his latest movie project.

"They love these kinds of things, and that's the thing that first drew me to it," said the 49-year-old. The couple's oldest child Maddox, 11, has a small role in the film playing a zombie.

Brad's latest praise for his partner Angelina's choice to undergo the mastectomy comes after he previously described the decision as "absolutely heroic".

"Having witnessed this decision firsthand, I find Angie’s choice, as well as so many others like hers, absolutely heroic," the actor told the Evening Standard. "I thank our medical team for their care and focus."

"All I want for her is to have a long and healthy life, with myself and our children," he said.

Brad and Angelina began dating in 2005 and announced their engagement in April 2012. "It is a promise for the future and their kids are very happy," a spokesman for the couple revealed at the time.

The couple have six children together Maddox, 11, Pax, nine, Zahara, seven, Shiloh, six, and twins Knox and Vivienne, four.
