Kanye West prepares family home with a day of furniture shopping

12 JULY 2013

Kanye West, who has just become a father to Kim Kardashian's baby North West, has taken his new parenting role in his stride and was seen shopping for furniture in the upmarket Beverly Hills.

While Kim is resting at home and bonding her with one-month old daughter, Kanye seems to be taking charge of building a nest for his new family. The couple bought a luxury mansion together in Bel Air, at the start of this year, but have yet to settle down and move in.

Kanye was spotted visiting furniture shops in Los Angeles, most likely to spruce up the mansion, and tried to keep a low-profile dressed in jeans and a baggy, grey short-sleeved jumper.

After the release of his sixth studio album in June, Kanye has had more time to prioritise his family's needs. Just this week the rapper's music video for Black Skinhead was leaked online, causing the music mogul to launch out in a Twitter rant, but the music mogul seems to have calmed down now.

Kim, Kanye and baby North West are currently living with Kris Jenner, Kim's mother and manager, in her Calabasas mansion.

Kim and Kanye are said to be enjoying their time as new parents, and have taken their daughter out on a few play dates, most recently to Bruce Jenner's beach house in Malibu for the 4 July celebrations.

Most of the Kardashian and Jenner clan were there, with Kim's half-sisters Kendall and Kylie Jenner photographed at the beach-front property, playing in the water and hanging out on the balcony.

"Kim has taken North on a few playdates, but she can't do it with lots of people since she's still so small," a source close to the first-time parents said.

"They are both so in love with their little girl," the source added, saying of rapper Kanye, "He doesn't leave North for more than an hour."
