"I'm gonna tell you the truth, I'm not doing too great," she told Glamour magazine. "But, I'm doing better than I thought. I adore him and he's such an amazing human being. It was more about the situation, it was inconvenient, it sucks. It wasn't about 'us' it was about the world we live in."

The star – who was born in Kosovo – was frank about how the announcement from her ex took her by surprise. Rita – who has previously dated Rob Kardashian - shared that she was willing to keep the fact that had ended their relationship a secret.

"Honestly, if Calvin hadn't done it [announced the split], I wouldn't have done it," she said about responding to his Twitter posts in June. "It took me five days to write three sentences. It was a massive... I don't know... We both work really hard, we're both all over the place.

"And I'd always denied it, always said, 'If you really want something, you'll do it!' When I go for something, I go in 100 per cent. So it was a wake up call."

Rita has since been linked to rapper Ricky Hil, who is the son of fashion mogul Tommy Hilfiger. The blonde beauty – who appears in the upcoming 50 Shades of Grey movie - just wrapped filming on a "secret movie" on Friday morning as she revealed on Instgram.
