Christine Bleakley talks about moving to New York

02 SEPTEMBER 2014

There have been widespread rumours that Christine Bleakley and her fiancé Frank Lampard are moving to New York after the footballer signed a deal with New York City FC.

But in an exclusive interview with HELLO! Online, Christine has revealed that she isn't planning on completely upping sticks and heading stateside.

"We're not moving as such," said Christine. "Obviously Frank's heading over there but our house is in London so we will be to-ing and fro-ing. It’s exciting!"

As well as splitting her time between the two cities, the TV presenter has been busy working with deodorant brand Soft and Gentle. We caught up with Christine to chat about the campaign, her top beauty tips and why she doesn't believe in diets…

I keep my beauty regime simple…
Like most women, I don’t have a vast amount of time so if I can get out of the house in as little time as possible, it works for me. I’m quite allergic to a lot of things which is why I love Soft and Gentle. I give my face a good wash and always put on a tinted moisturiser. I love getting glammed up for an evening out and getting ready with my sister or friends – it’s all part of the night! But most days, it’s a bit of moisturiser and off I go!

I couldn’t live without concealer…
Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of working with lots of make-up artists and you pick up tips from each of them. Using a concealer properly is fantastic. You can make yourself look relatively flawless without much make-up if you know how to do it properly. I was told recently that you should switch hands when applying mascara and eyeliner so that you use your left hand when doing your left eye and vice versa. It makes it completely even.

I always carry a little pot of Vaseline…
It’s very simple and can be used as a highlighter if you need a sheen, for your lips if they’re feeling a bit dry, or even to keep eyebrows in place. I’m using a MAC concealer at the moment which I really like. I have a Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser and my favourite mascara is Chanel. I always have a lip gloss and at the moment I have a Maybelline one and a Chanel one that my sister bought for me a few weeks ago. Mascara, concealer and Vaseline are my three essentials.

I like to keep fit…
Everyone has their moments when they can’t be bothered. But I feel so much better when I exercise. If I’m working for 12-14 hours a day, I still make sure I do something during the week. Even If it’s just going for a ten minute walk to keep everything moving. I really enjoy spin and body pump classes and sometimes work out with my sister or with Frank. As long as you’re with someone who pushes you, you can keep going.

Girls put a lot of pressure on themselves to be skinny…
Everyone knows whether their jeans feel tight that day or not but I think it’s all about having a healthy body as opposed to a really skinny one. I don’t lose sleep over the camera putting on ten pounds… I know myself, how I feel and what’s good for me. I eat well. I would never do any of these diets where you’re starving yourself. It’s about everything in moderation and the harder you work, the more results you’ll get, whether it’s walking for an extra ten minutes or doing a bit more in the gym. It’s all about perspective and I think I’m balanced in that way.
