Vicky Pattison has been left heartbroken after the sudden death of her "longest and best friend" Paul Burns, who has died at the age of 37. The former Loose Women panellist paid tribute to Paul on social media on Monday, revealing that they had spent his last night together, although not disclosing the cause of his death. She wrote: "I don’t know what to post. I don’t know what to say. But this seemed fitting. @mrpaulburns1 you are my best friend, my oldest friend and one of the most amazing people in the world. My heart is broken. I know I will never get over losing you and this still doesn’t feel real- I’m desperately just waiting for the moment I wake up from this nightmare."

The TV star continued: "The only solace I can take from this is that I spent your last night with you and all of our best friends and you knew how much we loved you. How important you were to us and how you kept us together as a group. I never met a more selfless person. Some of the best moments of my life I shared with you and the lasses. I do not want to accept that you won’t be at my wedding." Ending her heartfelt tribute, Vicky wrote: "The world will forever be less bright without you in it. But I suppose you were just too special. You were too good for us Paul and I hope they look after you in heaven. Show them how it’s done boot off burns."
