Celebrity tributes have flooded in after the news broke that S Club 7 star Paul Cattermole had died aged 46. His S Club 7 bandmates - Rachel Stevens, Hannah Spearritt, Tina Barrett, Jon Lee, Bradley McIntosh and Jo O'Meara - revealed they were heartbroken as they called the late star their "brother".

The group had been excitedly talking about their reunion, just weeks before Paul’s tragic death. They shared some kind words in his memory with the world. S Club 7 wrote: "We are truly devastated by the passing of our brother Paul. There are no words to describe the deep sadness and loss we all feel. We were so lucky to have had him in our lives and are thankful for the amazing memories we have. He will be so deeply missed by each and every one of us. We ask that you respect the privacy of his family and of the band at this time."

Shortly after, many of Paul's celebrity friends took to social media to pay tribute including Vernon Kay. The star revealed Paul was always there for him on his rise to fame. He said: "This is so very sad. From when I first started in TV all the way through CBBC, T4, TOTP, smash hits poll winners Paul and S Club were always there. He always had time for a chat. RIP."

Rylan Clark posted some kind words and his love following the sad news. He said: "Sending all the love to you all xxx." Lorraine Kelly wrote: "This is so sad. Lovely man and he was so looking forward to the #sclub7 reunion." Actor Jeremy Edwards, who previously was engaged to Rachel Stevens, added: "RIP Paul Cattermole. My thoughts and love go to all your friends and family. #sclub7."

Lizzie Cundy shared: "So shocked and sad to hear S Club 7 Paul Cattermole has passed away. Such a lovely guy. All my thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends."

India Willoughby added: "Such sad news. Paul was always my favourite. Cheeky smile. Be with the brightest stars now. Love and condolences to all his family and friends." Many devastated fans have also taken to social media to detail their heartbreak over the news.
