Seven-months-pregnant Claudia Schiffer is currently hobbling around on crutches after being injured at a recent party. The German supermodel had to be rushed to hospital by her husband on Sunday after a piece of a fireplace crushed her toes.

Doctors informed Claudia that three bones in her foot were broken and she would have to undergo surgery. The recuperation process is likely to be a painful one for the 31-year-old as her pregnancy means she is unable to take painkillers.

"It's all very worrying as she's now seven months gone. She's obviously in a lot of pain," a source is quoted as saying in Friday's Daily Mirror. "It's difficult enough trying to get around when you're expecting a baby anyway – but having to rely on crutches is making it virtually impossible. Claudia isn't the type to sit around doing nothing, so she's started hobbling about already."

The model's husband, Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels producer Matthew Vaughn, is apparently most concerned about his wife's accident and has been fussing over her ever since it took place. He and Claudia were married last May, after the 31-year-old movie-maker proposed ten months into their relationship.
