Luxury beauty brand Lancôme obviously believes in keeping things in the family. The French cosmetic house has just named Elettra Rossellini, daughter of their long-term collaborator Isabella Rossellini, as its new face.

Elettra, who is the grand-daughter of Casablanca actress Ingrid Bergman, joins a long line of beauties, including Diane Kruger, Ines Sastre and Uma Thurman, to lend their beauty to the label. The 23-year-old made her modelling debut in 2003 for the up-market American company Abercrombie and Fitch. "She is as gorgeous as her grandmother," said a spokesperson at the time.

Elettra admits that spending time with her famous mother on photoshoots for the brand over the years meant she picked up the basics of her craft at an early age. "I played with the hair stylists and makeup artists - such great fun for a little girl!" she says.

Isabella, who parted company with Lancome in 1995, says she's thrilled to see her daughter continuing the Rossellini association with the firm. "When Elettra told me she had signed with Lancôme, I felt I had reunited with a dear friend."
