Salma and husband put on united front at futuristic Balenciaga show

It's a difficult time for Salma Hayek and Francois-Henri Pinault.

Their family has been in the spotlight due to his child support dispute with Linda Evangelista who is seeking $46,000 per month from the fashion mogul for the upkeep of their four-year old son.

But it was business as usual for the glamorous couple at the Balenciaga show in Paris.

Putting on a united front, the pair – who married two years ago – smiled as they arrived at the uber-stylish event.

It was an important event for billionaire businessman Francois-Henri, the CEO of luxury brand company, PPR, that owns the label.

His family are worth an estimated £7billion, and also have shares in Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent and Bottega Veneta.

The couple split their time between the sultry actress' LA home and his luxurious apartment in the affluent 6th arrondissement of Paris.

His wealthy neighbours in the district near the beautiful Jardin de Luxembourg would definitely appreciate the offerings at Balenciaga.

The label had the fashion world on its feet – because the benches collapsed, which meant the glitterati in the front row were forced to stand.

But their minds were soon taken off the technical mishap once the showstopping looks materialised on the runway.

Talented chief designer Nicolas Ghesquière played with a 'silky futurism' theme, featuring a sporty, sci-fi-esque colour palette of purple and gold.

His thick silk skirt suits made allusions to the hourglass figure with nipped-in waists and updated Joan Collins' Dynasty look  via seriously exaggerated shoulders.

Elsewhere at Paris fashion week, Lady Gaga's favourite label Mugler focused on futuristic minimalism in neutral shades.

Meanwhile, Dries Van Noten's beautiful postcard prints came in the form of serene landscapes and city nightscapes.
