Latin heart-throb Antonio Banderas was among the participants in last week’s Copa Del Rey sailing competition on the island of Majorca off the coast of Spain. The Mask Of Zorro star joined his brother Javier in competing against reigning champion King Juan Carlos of Spain in the prestigious race while Hollywood beauty Melanie Griffith cheered from the shore.

Despite failing to take home the cup, the Original Sin star – rendered virtually unrecognizable by a new beard and dark shades – was able to enjoy the beautiful weather from his home on the celebrity-strewn island.

The Mascalzone Latino team secured the top prize, weathering some healthy competition. The Copa Del Rey, which first sailed twenty years ago, has become a first-class event on the racing calendar, and is currently one of the most important cruise regattas in the Mediterranean.

Others on hand for the festivities, which included a gala dinner, were King Harald of Norway, former King Constantine of Greece and Crown Prince Felipe of Spain.
