J LO GOES SOFT’N’PEACHY FOR THE L.A. PREMIERE OF HER NEW MOVIE ‘ENOUGH’

She may play a battered wife turned avenging warrior in her new movie Enough but Jennifer Lopez was the epitome of femininity when she turned up for the film’s premiere in Los Angeles this week. Gone were the skin-tight hip hop-style clothes, in-your-face hoop earrings and clingy pants designed to show off that legendary derriere. In their place was a softer, puff-shouldered creation in baby pink chiffon simply accessorised with a delicate blossom tucked behind one ear.

In Enough, her husband’s abuse forces J Lo’s character to become his lethal adversary. The singer-turned-actress underwent a crash course in the Israeli fighting technique Krav Maga to build up her physical stamina and the gentler look she chose for the premiere may have been an intentional effort to distance herself from her tough on-screen persona.

Although agreeing it is a thriller – “It’s that genre. It has all the twists and turns. It keeps you on the edge of your seat,” she says – the fiercely multi-tasking 31-year-old insists that the new flick is also much more. “It was my hardest role, I think, to date. It was very physically challenging and also very emotionally challenging.”

Enough, which also stars Juliette Lewis and ER actor Noah Wyle, opens in the US on May 24 and in the UK on September 20.
