The name of her latest movie is Cold Mountain, but Nicole Kidman had a chance to enjoy some warm and sunny Australian weather as she strolled up a snowy white carpet at the film's Sydney premiere.

It was a homecoming for the statuesque Aussie, who hadn't been back Down Under since last January. "I am relieved, relieved to have made it," she said at the premiere, where she embarked on a lengthy walkabout to sign autographs for cheering fans.

There was more than just the premiere to celebrate, as Nicole was also honoured with a key to the city before the screening.

And it looks like the Oscar winner has plans for both work and play while in Sydney. She's set to shoot a Chanel No 5 advert with Moulin Rouge director Baz Luhrmann, and then plans to remain in Australia for Christmas, which also coincides with her parents' 40th wedding anniversary.

It is also rumoured that Nic will spend part of the holidays with her children at the plush Wakaya Club in Fiji, and has reportedly invited ex-husband Tom and Penelope along for a family-friendly celebration.
