Love, Actually star Emma Thompson stole the show when she stepped out for the Evening Standard British Film Awards, sporting a skin-revealing gown to pick up one of the night's top prizes.
Emma, who won the best actress gong for her work in the hit Christmas comedy, swapped her usual demure outfits for a sizzling backless pink gown by Maria Grachvogel. "I thought I've only got a few more years left to wear things like this," joked the 44-year-old star, "so I might as well make the most of them."
The awards bash, which celebrates the best in British talent, also saw Joely Richardson going for a whole new look. Nip/Tuck star Joely, who was on hand to present the best technical award to The Hours, wore a decidedly conservative ensemble by Valentino.
Academy Award nominee Master And Commander found itself the recipient of a pair of trophies, including best actor Paul Bettany. Fifteen-year-old Eton schoolboy Max Pirkis was also honoured with the best newcomer gong for his debut in the Russell Crowe-starring film.Other winners at the London ceremony were Love, Actually's Bill Nighy, who took home the Peter Sellers Award For Comedy, and Touching The Void, which received the best film prize.
