RUSSELL CROWE BOWLED OVER BY HIS LITTLE BOY

4 JANUARY 2006

Cricket fans who turned out to watch Australia take on South Africa this week were hit for six when Hollywood star Russell Crowe went along to join them. The Oscar-winner had his hands full with two-year-old son Charles as he took his place in the stands of Sydney Cricket Ground.

Russell is well-known for his love of sport, but on Wednesday morning all his attention was focused on his son. And little Charles, who bears a striking resemblance to his famous dad, looked every inch the junior heart-throb, with the word "handsome" emblazoned across his t-shirt.

According to reports Down Under, the tyke may soon have a baby brother or sister, as his mum Danielle is said to be expecting a second child. For the moment, however, he seems happy to enjoy some quality time with his proud father, who has recently finished work on the romantic drama A Good Year.

Since Charles made his big debut in December 2003, the hunky actor has made a determined effort to lighten his workload and put more energy into family life. That's not to say he has turned his back on Tinseltown completely, though. In a few months time he is expected to team up with old friend Nicole Kidman on a new movie that will be directed by fellow Australian Baz Luhrman.
