Lost star Evangeline Lilly had a lucky escape on Wednesday as the house she rents in Hawaii was destroyed in an early-morning blaze.
No one was hurt in the fire, which gutted the home Evangeline shares with two other girls who also work on the hit TV series.
"Yes, it is unfortunately true that her home in Hawaii burned down this morning," said her spokesperson. "Thankfully Evangeline is safe, as she was on set already when it occurred."
A spokesperson for the Honolulu Fire Department said the alarm was received at 6:43am, and that crews reached the scene six minutes later. "When we arrived the house was fully engulfed," Tejada said. "It was a complete loss. Just the roof was still standing."
The fire will come as a blow to the 27-year-old actress, who took pride in her "sweet, little bungalow" on a canal in Hawaii. "My home is my castle, and I spend a lot of time nurturing it, redecorating, moving this and adjusting that, adding flowers and candles. I'm rearranging furniture and taking down paintings and putting up new ones, and buying new pieces of art. I love my home. It's the only thing I really spend money on."
