Sparkle like Glee's star Lea and get an A-list glow this party season

Only recently this year actress and singer Lea Michele was given the prestige of becoming the beautiful new face of L'Oreal and the young starlet has been looking radiant in the spotlight ever since.

With the festive party season getting underway, winter skin can be a real nuisance when all you want to do is get out there and look fabulous. The good news is that dull skin can easily be overcome by anyone wanting to glow like Glee's A-lister this Christmas with our make-up and skincare tips.

The secret is to start with great skincare routine but not to forget about your neck and chest. Treat them as an extension of your face with products that hydrate and cleanse the skin gently. These parts are covered by sensitive skin so, like Lea, make the most of low-cut party dress and maintain your chest and neck area with a well moisturised base.

The best friend to your make-up kit this season is a fantastic dewy base and crystal-coloured highlighters. There's a real trend at the moment for a natural, healthy looking glow and BB creams or tinted moisturizers are just the thing for perfecting your look with a light finish and even coverage.

Highlighters can give your skin a more polished look whilst lifting and accentuating the contours of your face. For a touch of shimmer, pressed palettes often work the best and are easy to find a shade to suit any occasion.

Oily Fish
Rich in Omega-3 fish such as mackerel, salmon and sardines are great at replenishing skin cells and giving your look a richer glow. The great thing is salmon canapés and seafood blinis are abundant at this time of year, so forget about counting the snackload and get eating your way to healthier looking skin.

Antioxidant-rich fruits
Those bowls of dried cranberries sitting by the buffet table are packed with antioxidants to clear your skin and reduce any signs of redness, leaving you looking refreshed and ready to party.

Avocados
They're power-packed with essential nutrients and a rich amount of protein, which is an essential skin building nutrient. Great eaten in a salad or made into a nourishing face mask, avocados are a true beauty food.

Olive oil
Wonderful for your body both inside an out, this staple ingredient will do wonders for your skin. Just add a teaspoon sized drizzle over your food or Smooth a couple of drops of olive oil over your face, elbows, knees, and the backs of your arms every evening. The oil contains monounsaturated fat, which refreshes and hydrates skin without leaving a greasy residue.
