Princess Madeleine of Sweden will welcome her second child in Sweden, the Royal Court has confirmed. The pregnant royal recently relocated back from New York with her husband Chris O’Neill and their little girl Princess Leonore, and mother and daughter have also registered as permanent residents of Stockholm, press officer Margareta Thorgren revealed. "The family has moved from the United States and their home base is now Stockholm," she told Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet.

Asked whether British-American banker Chris would also register as a resident, she replied, "The whole family is living in Stockholm, and right now Princess Madeleine and Princess Leonore are registered here. We will have to see how the future unfolds." Madeleine and Chris returned to Sweden in December and are currently living in an apartment owned by the royal family in central Stockholm. The princess, who gave birth to daughter Leonore in New York City on 20 February 2014, is due to welcome their second child in the summer. The 32-year-old previously confirmed that the couple decided to leave the United States for Europe as "that's where we have our families".

Whether Madeleine and Chris decide to stay in Sweden remains to be seen. There has been speculation that they have been considering moving to London, and are only temporarily staying in Stockholm while they decide where in Europe that want to be based long-term. They have family ties in the British capital; Chris' mother Eve lives in central London, while his sister Tatyana is based just outside the city. Sweden's Expressen newspaper also said that 40-year-old Chris has a "large circle of friends" in the UK. Madeleine moved to New York in 2010, shortly after the end of her engagement to Jonas Bergstrom. It was there that she first met Chris, who she went on to marry in June 2013. They welcomed their first child, Princess Leonore, in February 2014, and on 19 December announced the happy news they are expecting their second baby.
