Undercover cops aren't supposed to fall in love with the villains they're chasing. But poor old Kate Morton simply couldn't help herself when she was assigned to lock up Albert Square bad-boy Phil Mitchell. Needless to say, their unlikely romance kept viewers of the hit soap enthralled for months on end. Prior to making Walford her home, the Newcastle-born actress also appeared in rival series Coronation Street and the medical drama Peak Practice.
