"Being a mom is what life is about. I hope people realise what the priorities in life should be and know not everything has to be perfect," says Kourtney Kardashian.

The hardworking mother-of-four is best known for starring in reality TV series Keeping Up With The Kardashians and its spin-offs series Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami and Kourtney and Kim Take New York which follow her family's luxury lifestyle.

Early life

Kourtney was born on 18 April, 1979 in LA, California to Robert Kardashian and Kris Jenner, whose other famous children are Kim, Khloé and Rob. Kris also shares two daughters called Kendall and Kylie with Caitlin Jenner.

After high school Kourtney entered the Southern Methodist University in Texas before transferring to University of Arizona where she met classmate Nicole Ritchie. In 2002 she graduated with a BA in Theatre Arts and a minor in Spanish.

Her father, a lawyer and a businessman, became well known for handling his friend OJ Simpson's defence during OJ’s 1995 murder trial. Sadly in 2003, Robert passed away of cancer at 59.

Due to her father's wealth, Kourtney’s first introduction to reality TV came in the series Filthy Rich: Cattle Drive, about a group of privileged youngsters working on a Colorado ranch.

Career

In 2007, two years after her first TV appearance, the 5ft 3in brunette joined the rest of the Kardashians in the family TV series, which gained the clan huge international popularity. Kourtney co-owned children’s clothing boutiques called Smootch in LA and New York with her mother, as well as co-owning another clothing store, DASH, with her sisters Kim and Khloe.

Out of all her siblings, Kourtney was always more reluctant to be in the spotlight. In 2020, the mom-of-four explained: "I have been filming the show non-stop for 14 years… I was feeling unfulfilled and it became a toxic environment for me to continue to have it occupy as much of my life as it was."

"Privacy is something I have come to value and finding that balance of private moments with being on a reality show is hard. People have this misconception that I don't want to work, which isn't true. I am following my happiness and putting my energy into that which makes me happy."

As of 2019, Kourtney has a lifestyle website named Poosh. In 2022 she announced a health brand, Lemme, specializing in vitamins and gummy supplements.

As Keeping Up With The Kardashians came to an end, the family returned to screens through The Kardashians, leaving E! Network for Hulu.

Private life

In 2007, Kourtney began dating Scott Disick and in 2011 after a tempestuous relationship as seen on the show, Scott eventually proposed. The couple have two children, Mason Dash Disick and Penelope Scotland Disick. It was revealed in June 2014 that Kourtney and Scott were expecting their third child. Kourtney gave birth to the couple's third child, Reign, in December 2014.

Scott and Kourtney split in 2015. As of January 2021, Kourtney has been in a relationship with her now-husband Travis Barker. She gave birth to their first child together, Rocky, in November 2023.
