Famous for: leading roles in top British soaps
Roberta Taylor's EastEnders character, Irene, arrived in Walford after falling victim to a con man. These days, however, the actress is better-known for catching villains than being bamboozled by them, because she plays the eagle-eyed Detective Inspector Gina Gold in The Bill. In the mini-series Bleak House, meanwhile, she shares the screen with such luminaries as Charles Dance, Pauline Collins and Gillian Anderson.
