Gok Wan

Born: October 9, 1979
TV stylist
Famous for: fronting hit makeover show How To Look Good Naked

The son of a Chinese father and a British mother, Leicester-born Gok found his calling in fashion after deciding not to pursue the speech and drama course he'd enrolled on at a London college. Starting work as a make-up artist, he moved into the fashion industry as a stylist, building a client base of celebrities including All Saints, Erasure and Wet Wet Wet. His first foray into TV followed soon after. He acted as a fashion consultant on hit shows such as GMTV, LK Today and Big Brother's Little Brother, before landing his own makeover programme How To Look Good Naked. It was an instant success, and ran for several series. In 2008 London-based Gok, who was single at the time, revealed his New Year resolution was "to find a husband".
