Jason Isaacs

Born: June 6, 1963
Actor
Famous for: Graduating from UK TV talent to Hollywood hotshot

Liverpool-born Jason originally set his sights on a career as a lawyer, but had a change of heart after getting involved in theatre at Bristol University. After graduating with a degree in Law he enrolled in a three-year course at London's Central School of Speech and Drama. And it was there he met his future wife, documentary-maker Emma Hewitt, with whom he has two girls, Lily and Ruby. The hunky actor soon landed roles in TV series like Taggart and Inspector Morse, going on to make the transition to the big screen in Hollywood productions Armageddon and The End Of The Affair before garnering attention for his portrayal of a sadistic Army officer in the civil war epic The Patriot. While other plum film parts, such as Lucius Malfoy in the Harry Potter series, have come his way, ever-versatile Jason keeps his hand in on the small screen with appearances in cutting-edge dramas such as The State Within and Scars.
