Princess Beatrice's early life

Beatrice was born August 8, 1988. She is the first daughter of Sarah, Duchess of York and Prince Andrew.

While her younger sister Princess Eugenie chose to spend her teenage years away from her family at Marlborough College in Wiltshire, Beatrice preferred to stay close to home at St George's, Ascot, not far from the royal residences in Windsor. Despite suffering from dyslexia, she left school with a grade A at A-level in drama and Bs in history and film studies.

She read History at Goldsmith's College in London in 2008, leaving her family home - Royal Lodge in Windsor Great Park. She moved into an apartment of her own at St James' Palace.

Beatrice has been involved in charity work for most of her adult life. In April 2010, she became the first member of the royal family to complete the London Marathon, running to raise money for Children in Crisis. She is the patron of Forget Me Not Children's Hospice, which supports children with life-shortening conditions.

The princess became a patron of the York Musical Society in 2012 and in April 2013, became royal patron of the Helen Arkell Dyslexia Centre - she has been open about her personal struggles with dyslexia. In 2018 Beatrice became the ambassador of Children in Crisis' partnership with Street Child, a children's charity active in various countries.

In April 2022, Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi took part in the first World Dyslexia Assembly, hosted by Prince Carl Philip in Sweden.

In February 2023, Beatrice was named patron of the British Skin Foundation.

Princess Beatrice's personal life

In 2006, Beatrice was briefly in a relationship with American born Paolo Liuzzo. She was then in a ten year relationship with Virgin Galactic businessman Dave Clark, which ended in July 2016.

The princess attended an event at the National Portrait Gallery in 2019 with Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, the son of Alex Mapelli-Mozzi, a former British Olympian and descendant of the Italian nobility, who is rumoured she started dating the year prior.  The two became engaged in Italy in September 2019, with their engagement formally announced by the Duke of York's Office on September 26.

The wedding was scheduled to take place on 29 May 2020 at the Chapel Royal at St James's Palace, followed by a private reception in the gardens of Buckingham Palace, but they were postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The wedding was eventually held on July 17 2020, at the Royal Chapel of All Saints, Royal Lodge, Windsor.
