Wendy Richard

In her role as Albert Square matriarch Pauline Fowler, Wendy became something of a British institution. During her 20 plus years with the show her character witnessed all Walford"s key ups and downs. In 2006 soap fans were left stunned after she announced she was quitting the show. Prior to joining EastEnders Wendy was best known for the Carry On movies and classic comedy series Are You Being Served?. She passed away on February 26, 2009, after losing her third battle with breast cancer.
