Queen wins primary school raffle

There's little doubt that the Queen already has the best laundry service money can buy. But now the monarch also has a back-up service, after winning some cleaning tokens in a primary school raffle.

Apparently Her Majesty was given the tickets by actress Janie Dee, whose daughter attends the school, during a charity cabaret at St James's Palace. It has since been revealed that one of her tickets was a winner, and Janie is waiting for the monarch to get in touch and collect her prize.

"The Queen was super-cool and, although, she'd clearly never handled such contraband before, merely asked what she might win," revealed Maureen Lipman, who performed at the cabaret.

"As Janie embarked on her list of treasures - 'Oh, there are some lovely prizes Ma'am. There's a half-case of claret, some dry cleaning token and a weekend break at a spa' – there rest of us tried to engage Mrs Parker Bowles in a spot of arm wrestling to pull the focus away.

"Would you believe what Her Majesty actually won? Cleaning token. Can you see it? 'I'd like you to get the ketchup off this ermine cape..'"
