Royal scrum for Lesotho orphans

Prince Harry has been enjoying some fun and games at the African orphanage where he is working. After spending the last few days helping out with planting trees and building a fence, the young royal unwound with an impromptu game of rugby.

Harry had little trouble in getting the game organised, as the youngsters were all eager to join in the fun. And some of the boys showed real talent when they gamely tackled their royal guest to the ground and relieved him of possession.

The 19-year-old also showed his kind-heartedness by giving some special attention to little Mafusi Maqhoane. The nine-year-old, who was brought to Mants'ase Children's Home after her parents died, received a master-class in "drop-kicking" from the Prince. And the youngster wasted no time in putting her new skills to use when she took to the playing field afterwards.

Also enjoying the rough and tumble was volunteer Thabo Mokhele, who has been helping Harry with the building work. "It's my first time playing rugby – it's cool!," said the 21-year-old. "Harry was good. He's a nice guy. We've been joking all the time and singing and dancing."

The Prince of Wales' younger son has been helping out with community projects in Lesotho as part of his gap year. As well as his work at the orphanage, he has been learning about efforts to combat the Aids epidemic which is ravaging the southern African kingdom.
