Just one day before Denmark's Crown Prince Frederik is set to wed his Australian fiancée Mary Donaldson, Copenhagen is already seeing the arrival of royal guests who will be attending the nuptials.
Members of the Greek and Japanese royal families have already jetted into the Danish capital, as have Norwegian Crown Prince Haakon and his wife, Crown Princess Mette-Marit. The couple, who recently welcomed Princess Ingrid, their first child together, were out on the town on Wednesday night, attending an exclusive party hosted by the future bride and groom at Copenhagen's Lille Vega club.
It has been a whirlwind few days for princess-to-be Mary, who has accompanied the prince to a number of official engagements as the country prepares for the big event. Hours before Wednesday night's celebratory bash, the couple attended a pre-wedding ceremony at the Town Hall along with other members of the Danish royal family, including Hong Kong-born Princess Alexandra.
The always-impeccably dressed Aussie has donned an extensive wardrobe of stylish garments for her whirlwind schedule this week, but she has also demonstrated that even the most flawlessly fashionable princess has to cope with the unexpected. And Mary did just that, when an untimely gust of wind lifted her hat away during an outdoor event at Parliament. After a uniformed guard returned the wide-brimmed hat, the future royal simply smiled graciously and continued the outing without a hitch. |
