Sweden's future queen, who was in the former British colony as part of a tour of China, donned her classic off-white and blue outfit for a meeting with young Swedish entrepreneurs and a visit to the newly opened Maritime Museum.

Her appearance at the museum was particularly timely as a replica of an 18th-century Swedish East India Company sailing ship is just about to leave Swedish shores for China, following the old trade wind routes. The vessel is due to put into Hong Kong's legendary harbour at the end of December 2006.

As her country's future sovereign, Victoria travels extensively, representing Sweden across the globe. She studied political science at Yale University in the US and has, in the past, accompanied official Swedish delegations to Hungary and Saudi Arabia. This was her first visit to the populous Eastern nation and was, in part, dedicated to learning as much as possible about the emerging superpower.
