After slumbering throughout his first official duty last week, the newest addition to the Belgian royal family, Prince Emmanuel Leopold Guillaume François Marie, was decidedly more alert when he embarked upon his first ever journey.

Having snoozed happily while Prince Philippe and Princess Mathilde of Belgium presented him to the world on October 5, the newborn had his eyes wide open and seemed fascinated by the activity going on around him as his proud parents prepared to take him home on Monday.
Emmanuel is Philippe and Mathilde's third child; his sister Princess Elisabeth is three and he also has an elder brother Gabriel, who's two.
