SVELTE KATE TURNS HEADS ON CHELSEA SHOPPING SPREE

Kate Middleton lived up to her stylish reputation as she stepped out to the shops this week. The popular royal girlfriend was looking particularly svelte and immaculate as always for the retail outing to a Sloane Street department store.

While Prince William finishes his last few weeks of military training at Sandhurst, the pretty brunette was turning heads on her home turf. Dressed in slim-fit jeans, crisp white shirt and fitted jacket, the 24-year-old was spotted testing out a £1,400 bed and mattress at Peter Jones.

According to one onlooker she must have been satisfied with both as she snapped up the Queen-sized bed, asking for it to be delivered to her Chelsea flat. It might not be long, of course, before she is looking for furnishings appropriate for a royal residence, as speculation grows that she and her Prince could soon be formalising their four-year relationship.

A recent internet survey indicates that the poised St Andrews graduate already seems to have won the public vote. Seventy-three per cent of voters thought the pair will wed, while bookmakers William Hill recently cut odds on the couple getting engaged this year from 6/1 to 3/1.
