With her own two grandchildren growing into toddlers, and the possibility of more new arrivals in the future when stepsons William and Harry start a family, the Duchess of Cornwall's thoughts have turned to how to accommodate the family's growing brood when they come to stay.

The 61-year-old grandmother has put the wheels in motion to obtain authorisation to extend her pre-marital home, where she often spends weekends.

Camilla has applied to North Wiltshire Council for planning permission for an extra bedroom, a bathroom, and a larger landing "to cater for grandchildren" at Ray Mill House in Lacock, Wiltshire. She currently has two grandchildren - 17-month-old Lola - the child of her food writer son Tom Parker Bowles and his wife Sara, and her daughter Laura's child Eliza, 14 months, with husband Harry Lopez.
