It was certainly a day to remember as Princess Madeleine of Sweden married her US financier love, Chris O'Neill in a splendid ceremony in Stockholm's royal chapel. The radiant bride stepped out in a stunning silk gown, complete with ivory-coloured Chantilly lace, by Italian fashion maestro Valentino that moved Chris to tears as he saw her walking down the aisle. The crowd was made up of a host of royal guests. Out in force to support their fellow Scandinavian royal were Prince Frederik, Princess Mary, Princess Marie and Prince Joachim from Denmark and Norway's representatives, Prince Haakon, Princess Mette-Marit, Princess Märtha Louise and her husband Ari Behn.Flying the flag for Great Britain were Prince Edward and his wife Sophie, Countess of Wessex, who chose a floor-length pale pink gown and glittering tiara for the occasion.During the moving wedding ceremony, Madeleine's adorable niece Estelle sat patiently in her own miniature chair, watched over by her proud parents Prince Daniel and Princess Victoria, who married in the same church in 2010.Once the vows were said and the rings exchanged, Madeleine and Chris treated the excited crowds of well-wishers to not one, but three romantic kisses before heading off on their waterfront procession. As the carriage drew up to S/S Stockholm, it was time for the newlyweds to let their hair down. Princess Victoria was picture perfect as she stepped out to support her sister Madeleine on her big day. The Swedish royal, who carried her 15-month-old daughter Estelle in her arms and walked in with her husband Prince Daniel, wore a greige rosé dress made from hand-dyed silk organza with layers of tulle in three shades, silk threads, Lurex threads, pearls and Swarovski crystals in amethyst and pale grey opal.

The stunning gown was fashioned from pleated silk organza with appliquéd ivory-hued Chantilly lace. The upper section of the bodice was lace with a deep-cut back. Narrow vertical pleats opened up from the accentuated waist, above the wide skirt, which ends with a four-metre-long train.

Despite rumours that she would stay at home with her paternal grandparents, Estelle attended her first royal wedding, even watching proceedings from her own miniature chair.

Although all eyes were on the beautiful bride herself, royal watchers were keen to see young Estelle witness her aunt Madeleine's big moment.

Chris O'Neill arrived looking excited and nervous with his best man Mr. Cedric Notz. Cedric is one of Chris' childhood friends and is of Austrian and Swiss descent.

The service, which was conducted in both English and Swedish, was officiated by The Right Reverend Lars-Göran Lönnermark, the Royal Court Chief Chaplain.

Chris was overcome with emotion and struggled to hold back the tears as he waited at the altar, watching his beautiful bride glide towards him accompanied by her proud father King Carl XVI Gustaf.
