Queen Camilla: New upset for King Charles's wife ahead of coronation

The Queen Consort has expressed her sorrow following the sudden death of Len Goodman.

Camilla is a huge fan of Strictly Come Dancing and had previously met – and danced with – Len.

Buckingham Palace confirmed that she had been left "deeply saddened" by the news of his passing.

Len died at the age of 78 after being diagnosed with bone cancer.

The former Strictly head judge, known for his trademark 'Seven!' votes, started on the show in 2004 and his final appearance was in the 2016 Christmas special. He also served as head judge on Dancing With The Stars, the US version of the programme. Take a look back at some of his best TV moments here...

Strictly judge Craig Revel Horwood wrote: "I’ve just woken up to the sad news that my gorgeous colleague and dear friend Len Goodman has passed away. My heart and love go out to his lovely Sue and family.

Claudia Winkleman said: "I'm so sad about Len. He was one of a kind, a brilliant and kind man. Full of twinkle, warmth and wit. Sending all love to his family and friends. X.”

And Tess Daly added: "I’ll never forget the fun we had on set, his love and passion for dancing and that wonderfully cheeky smile lit up the screen. You were never a 7 for me, Len. You were always a 10."

Bruno Tonioli, who starred alongside Len on BBC's Strictly Come Dancing and on the US version, Dancing With the Stars, said he was heartbroken by the death of his friend of 19 years.

"I will treasure the memory of our incredible adventures and hundreds of shows we did together... There will never be anyone like you. We will miss you," he shared.

Agent Jackie Gill previously confirmed in a statement: "It is with great sadness to announce that Len Goodman has passed away peacefully, aged 78.

"A much-loved husband, father and grandfather who will be sorely missed by family, friends and all who knew him."
