Latin crooner Julio Iglesias has been enjoying a tropical holiday with his family in the Caribbean. The iconic singer and his partner Miranda were snapped while taking advantage of the sugar-white beaches by their holiday home in the Dominican Republic.

The couple's twin girls Victoria and Cristina were likewise joining in the fun as the clan took a dip in the clear blue waters. Julio and his loved ones are regular visitors to the town of Punta Cana, which is found at the eastern most tip of the island.

With its beautiful landscape and relatively inexpensive resorts, the Dominican Republic is rapidly becoming one of the region's top destinations. Located between Cuba, Jamaica and Puerto Rico, in the heart of the Caribbean archipelago, the nation prides itself on offering a more authentic holiday experience than its better-known neighbours.

The country's near perfect weather has drawn other celebs, too, including the legendary designer Oscar de la Renta. But then it's hardly surprising the island ranks top names among its fans. When Christopher Columbus first spotted the coral-edged coastline through his telescope, he declared: "There could be no more beautiful island in the world."
