UMA REKINDLES ROMANCE WITH ANDRE IN ST TROPEZ

Passions are running high in Saint Tropez where Uma Thurman is showing all the signs that her two-year on-off relationship with Andre Balazs is back on. The pair have been holidaying in the celebrity hangout, and the chemistry between them was on show for all to see.

Looking stunning in a purple plunge-neck swimsuit, the statuesque 36-year-old enjoyed a refreshing dip in the sea before taking a romantic stroll along the sand with her wealthy hotelier boyfriend. Despite announcing their separation in March, Uma and Andre seem to have rekindled their romance, which began in 2004 after the mum-of-two's six-year marriage to Ethan Hawke ended.

Andre, 48, who owns the exclusive Chateau Marmont hotel in LA, held his love protectively around the waist and leaned in to talk to her as they walked along the beach. Their sojourn in the South of France follows on from another recent break in St Barths.

A destination synonymous with the A-list, Saint Tropez is the epitome of glamour and glitz. Pampelonne beach is the place to be seen while its many shore-front clubs including La Voile Rouge and Nikki Beach are de rigueur when it comes to evening hangouts. The only place to lunch is Club 55 where paparazzi lie in wait for the stream of actors, producers and models to arrive. At night the scene is especially decadent at Stefano Forever – a Moulin Rouge-style venue by the sea with a fabulous nightly cabaret act.

For a front-seat view of the super yachts moored in the harbour, visitors jostle for a table at Senequier bar to see the likes of Diddy and Beyonce hop ashore. And if the celebs aren't staying on their own floating palaces they book into the famed Byblos hotel with its legendary Caves du Roi nightclub. For something a little more romantic and tucked away, the Yaca has been a perennial favourite. Just outside the centre of town the luxurious Residence de La Pinede, with its ocean-front rooms and Michelin-starred restaurant, is super discreet and said to be favoured by stars including Clint Eastwood.

Jet-setters in search of a bargain or two head to the bustling open-air market in the Place de Lices on Saturday mornings where beautiful straw baskets, Provencal pottery, dried lavender and embroidered fabrics are on sale. Those with a penchant for designer labels, meanwhile, browse the boutiques in the fishing town's cobbled streets, picking up a pair of Tropezienne leather sandals at K Jacques or a bikini at Kiwi.
