Surrounded by the palm groves of Marrakesh, just a couple of hours flight from London, lies the peaceful oasis of the Palmeraie Spa. At 4,000 square metres, it's the largest spa facility in the country, and its philosophy is based on seeking a balance between Moroccan beauty rituals and the Asian art of living. The wide range of massages and treatments offered are inspired by the teachings of yoga and they bring together and blend modern international cosmetics with natural products typical of Morocco such as ghassoul – a volcanic clay with plant extracts –  and essential oils. The spa is a showpiece of the luxurious five-star palace whose architecture is faithful to the purest Moroccan style.

Located near the main road to Casablanca, at the foot of the snow-capped peaks of the Atlas mountains, this paradise of light, with its magical scents, bougainvillea, roses and jacarandas, and 27-hole, 72-par golf course, has, since it opened, been a favourite of golf enthusiasts.

The hotel has 368 deluxe rooms that open onto the gardens, the golf course and the mountains. Luxuriously equipped, they are a fine demonstration of the exquisite refinement to be found here, framed by the lush gardens. The resort boasts a variety of different speciality restaurants offering French, Moroccan, Italian and Chinese cuisine and a wide selection of bars.
