Appearing like something straight out of The Little Mermaid, the world-famous house is shaped like two white seashells, with the magical mermaid theme reflected throughout. From the shell-shaped headboards on the beds to the seashell ornaments, every inch of the home has been designed to make you feel like you've stepped into your very own underwater palace, all while offering stunning views across to the Caribbean Ocean nearby.

The home was designed by architects Raquel and Eduardo Ocampo, who now act as hosts to guests who have travelled from all over the world to stay in their iconic house, which is available to rent out via Airbnb. It can be yours from £238 per night for four people – around £59 each per night - and we think it's well worth shelling out for.

As well as being arguably one of the most Instagrammable homes in the world, the Shell House has impressive facilities of its own including a large private swimming pool and outdoor terrace, two king beds, a kitchenette and BBQ area. You may have to get used to outside attention though; the owners warn that tourists often stop by to admire the impressive architecture, but who can blame them!

Fancy booking a visit? The Shell House is located on the north side of Isla Mujeres, off the coast of Mexico. The best way to get there from the UK is to fly to Cancun, then get a ferry across from Puerto Cancun to Isla Mujeres, which takes just 15 minutes. We're already planning our visit!
