We may have just gotten over an unexpected heatwave, but winter is coming and all we can think about is getting some vitamin D before Christmas. And TUI’s latest deals include some incredible all-inclusive holidays to Egypt, a popular vacation destination for holidaymakers wanting to swap drizzly autumnal mornings for lazy, sunny afternoons by the pool.

Egypt is top of plenty of people’s bucket lists, as there’s so much to see and do, even pyramids aside –there’s historic sites, plenty of watersports, incredible cuisine and out of this world beaches and coral reefs. Not forgetting the shopping, which is a must if you’re holidaying in Egypt.

One of the most popular holiday spots in Egypt is Hurghada, located on the Red Sea and a haven for keen divers thanks to the coral reefs and dive sites. Sharm El Sheik is also popular, surrounded by the Sinai desert and the one for those wanting those desert safaris or to explore local shops, boutiques and restaurants.

Love the beach? Marsa Alam, with its luxurious properties, white sandy beaches and crystal-clear waters, is about as luxe as it gets. Packed with glam resorts, a waterpark, and unspoilt reefs, it’s one for the history buffs too – Wadi el Gamal, the Valley of the Camels, houses an emerald mine that supposedly supplied Cleopatra with her favourite gemstones.

What’s the average temperature in Egypt in winter?

Egypt has become one of the most popular winter sun destinations thanks to its all-round warm climate. In September, the days are usually hot and balmy with temperatures around 32C. October sees it fall slightly to an average 28C, dropping to 23C come November and 19C in December. Throughout winter, Egypt stays mild during the day but the evenings are considered on the chilly side, so best to pack a jumper or light jacket for apres-sun fun.

Best TUI holiday deals to Egypt

  • Sharm El Sheik holidays

TUI Coral Sea Holiday Resort, Egypt

Coral Sea Holiday Resort in Sharm El Sheik

Why we chose it: With over 8,600 reviews, this popular Egypt resort ticks the boxes for families, with a water park, six restaurants and plenty of activities to keep you and the kids busy all week long.

The reviews are glowing, with holidaymakers calling it “amazing”, “fantastic” and with the most attentive staff. There’s two pools, one with a poolside bar, an aqua park with slides and a lazy river plus the main pool is mere steps from the beach

  • Ibereto Palace in Sharm El Sheik

Iberotel Palace in Sharm El Sheik

Why we chose it: We love a big property, but there’s something special about a smaller, more intimate resort and the Iberotel Palace is classed as having a more boutique feel than its neighbours. Boasting Red Sea views, the hotel is on the edge of a private sandy beach and has a host of watersports on offer. Fancy venturing out further? The spice market in Old Sharm is a five minute walk away.

  • Hurghada holidays

TUI Blue Crystal Bay Resort in Hurghada

Why we chose it: Save a whopping 33% on this all-inclusive holiday, with its private beach, landscaped gardens and six restaurants, including one dedicated to authentic Egyptian cuisine.

There’s a swanky spa on site too, with steam baths, saunas and a hot tub, and a packed roster of activities including scuba diving and fitness classes. The city of Hurghada is a 20-minute taxi ride away, if you want to explore beyond the resort.

  • Steigenberger Makadi in Hurghada

    Steigenberger Makadi in Hurghada

Why we chose it: If it’s an adults-only break you’re looking to book, this plush resort has a bolt-on golf course, cocktail bar and stunning mountain and sea views to boot. Shops are a 15-minute walk away, and there’s a private stretch of sand to explore a mere bus ride away.

  • Marsa Alam holidays

    Hilton Marsa Alam

    Hilton Marsa Alam

Why we chose it: This hotel is said to be ideal for water babies, with four pools, a coastal location and water sports aplenty. Sticking to its Egyptian roots, the buildings are decorated in a Nubian style and the restaurant serves local dishes, plus, there’s a shisha bar. This is a great location for scuba diving and snorkelling, with seahorses and green sea turtles regularly spotted.

  • Reef Oasis Resort in Marsa Alam

Reef Oasis Suakin Resort in Marsa Alam

Why we chose it: New for 2023, this newly built resort is a treasure trove of swimming pools, a hotel-run kids’ club, a PADI-certified diving centre and even a kids’ pool with splash park. As well as a bevvy of restaurants to choose from, the stand out has to be a rooftop spot with panoramic views of the Red Sea. Gorgeous.
