One of London’s best-known socialites, Tara Palmer-Tomkinson, is to be immortalised in wax at Madame Tussaud’s. The It girl will appear as a water-pistol-wielding prankster in a new section at the famous attraction.

Details of the new area are still a secret, but it is believed to be based around a celebrity party and has an interactive theme.

One of the sculptors, Jim Kempton, said that during sittings the star lived up to her mischievous reputation, squirting both him and his co-sculptor Jeni Fairley with water. "It was one of the funniest sittings I have ever been involved in,” he said.

The significance of being invited to join the A-list stars featured at Madame Tussaud’s was not lost on Tara – who playfully signed the sittings book with the comment: “This makes an Oscar look like rabbit food.”

While she’s obviously still got her sense of fun, housemate Matt Jolly says the one-time hellraiser has “calmed right down” these days. “She’s always home by 10.30. In fact, we’ve just had a home cinema installed. We stay in and watch teen flicks all night,” he said in a recent interview.

Her pistol-packing figure will make its debut when the new display opens for Easter 2003.
