Radio DJ Zoe Ball went back to work at radio station Xfm on Monday, after spending the weekend working through problems with estranged husband Norman Cook, also known as Fatboy Slim, at the couple's £2 million Brighton home.

She looked gloomy as she arrived at the London station, but while on the air, Zoe spoke openly about the split and even made a number of jokes about the situation. Asked by one of her crew members about her weekend, during which her crisis talks were splashed all over the papers, she quipped: "Oh, you know, a bit quiet. Not much going on." And at one point during her show, the media personality asked listeners to come up with a list of "inappropriate" tunes to reflect her separation. Suggestions included the country anthem D.I.V.O.R.C.E., but the winner was Lucky Man by The Verve.

"You've got to laugh or you'll cry," she remarked during the broadcast.

News of Zoe's break-up with her chart-topping husband, who are parents to two-year-old Woody, emerged on Friday. The celebrity pair says that work pressures were at the root of their problems, but they had not given up on their four-year marriage. "We are determined to try and make it work again," insists Norman.
