Britain's coolest athlete has just launched his latest range of children's clothes for high street retailer Marks & Spencer, but he may soon be facing some tough continental competition in the style stakes.

England skipper David Beckham's first DB07 range for boys, which hit the shelves last September, has proved a huge success with both shoppers and the player himself. He revealed a red hooded sweatshirt is his favourite item, adding: "I sometimes wear the one made for me in a bigger size."

Undoubtedly British football's most fashionable couple, David and his wife Victoria will face a chic challenge if rumours of a move to Spain prove to be true. Top club Real Madrid - which has admitted it's hoping to sign Becks - is probably the soccer world's most stylish team.

Striker Raul's wife Mamen is a leading model in Spain as is Luis Figo's partner Helen. French legend Zinedine Zidane is meanwhile married to stunning dancer Veronique, who owns her own boutique.

And when it comes to the British couple's lavish spending habits, Ronaldo's other half, blonde beauty Milene, is likewise no stranger to extravagant shopping. She once splashed out on a diamond collar for her cat.

White seems to be David's favourite colour at the moment, and it may be more so in the future if he ends up swapping his red Man U shirt for the white of a Real Madrid jersey
