After months of rumour and speculation, the mystery over where the Beckhams will make their home in Madrid appears to have come to an end. According to reports in Spain's leading newspapers, the couple has settled upon a property in the exclusive estate of Las Encinas.

The Beckhams' new home, which was designed by renowned architect Andrés Revuelta, is located 13 kilometres northwest of Madrid on the road to La Coruña. The mansion was built 30 years ago on part of the estate of the Marqués de Mondéjar. And its large windows and Arab-style roof look out over a 10,000-metre plot complete with its own swimming pool and paddle court.

David and Victoria have reportedly signed a contract to rent the property for €50,000 (£33,000) a month for the next four years, with an option to buy for €9 million at the end of that period.

The couple will no doubt be eager to settle into their new home as they adept to the rhythm of life in Spain. Not the least of their concerns are schooling arrangements for four-year-old Brooklyn. Apparently the youngster will be commuting between Britain and the Spanish capital for the first few months of the school year, as he attends classes in both countries.

He is expected to enroll in an English-language academy in Madrid soon, but for the moment he will have classes in the UK too. It may seem like a long way to go to school, but Real Madrid has given the Beckhams the use of a private jet for their first year in the country.
